Saint Philip Neri Parish

Saint Philip Neri Parish traces its origins to the 1700s. Mass was celebrated occasionally in local homes on makeshift altars. In 1854, Jesuits and diocesan priests began visiting the area regularly. Priests from the Cathedral or Bayou La Batre served the Belle Fontaine community throughout the late nineteenth century. The Parish was officially founded in 1904. Today, the Parish is filled with wonderful families.

Saint Michael Parish

Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Heron Bay was built in 1895 as a mission of the Cathedral. The church was destroyed by the 1906 hurricane. In 1909, St. Timothy Church was built as a mission and then, around 1928, a station of Bayou La Batre. In 1940, Edmundite Fathers took over the area’s spiritual welfare.  The first Mass in St. Michael Church was celebrated on the feast of the Epiphany, 1941. The new building was also used as a school and community hall open to all.

Sunday Masses at St. Philip: 8:30AM, 11:30AM

Sunday Mass at St. Michael: 10AM

Monday Daily Mass at St. Philip: 4:30PM

Tues-Friday Daily Mass at St. Philip: 9AM

Sacrament of Reconciliation:

Sunday 3-4PM at St. Philip
